Strengthening Education Services in Upper Akkar
Duration: January 2008 – October 2008
Objectives:
The project aims at identifying the possible causes of school failure in Akkar and to reinforce teachers’ capacity to enable them to better assist students in order to reduce dropout. A special attention will be given to the situation of children with disability.
Description:
– A comprehensive assessment on education services and reasons for high dropout rates conducted in 38 schools, covering 20 municipalities in the area surrounding the NNP
– A capacity-building training program for 63 teachers from 25 schools in 13 municipalities, on child protection, teaching methodology, classroom management, and Subject Coordination (French, math, and science)Developing educational manuals for teachers.
